I almost forgot

When the DR went to Brazil, he brought me back some fun gifts. Some papaya scented moisturizer and soap, and a beautiful perfume set with scented lotion and soap as well. Isn't the bottle darling? Middle's response to these gifts? "Wow, he must think you stink."

Here is a close up of the earrings and ring he brought me, just so it wasn't all about body smells

P.S. I did forget that he also brought me a wrap that is printed like the Brazilian flag.

Outpatient and DR in Brazil

Just have to mention for the - I don't know how many times- how much I love technology.

We have been able to video call the DR and Outpatient twice since they left and chatted by skype a couple of times also. Tonight we just viewed the pictures they have taken so far. Obviously the picture quality wasn't all that great- but still- to be able to go through the slide show while online with them is so awesome.

The DR's ear is feeling a little better, but they are going to try to get some medical assistance for both of them when they get back to Campinas tomorrow- they have been in Botucatu the past three days. It has been so awesome for the DR to hear first hand from the people what a great missionary the Outpatient was. For him- Outpatient- it has been awesome to get to hug and love the people with whom he served and who he taught. The DR has also been very sobered by the humble circumstances that many of these people live in and by the circumstances his son lived in also. There were many things that the Outpatient didn't tell us about, which I know it doesn't matter in the least- he was better off- still- than many.

Tomorrow it is back to Campinas where the DR will get to meet another of the family converts that the Outpatient was close to and that I have emailed and skyped with frequently. They will be eligible for the temple in a couple of months. They are planning on feeding the DR some lovely concoction of cow's stomach. The Outpatient really wants his dad to experience that :)

I sent some little gifts for the children (CTR things) so I am glad they will be able to deliver them in person.

They have arrived

Just heard from the DR and Outpatient- they have arrived safely in Campinas-

Now if we can get pulled together, we will head out in a couple of hours for hockey in Cougar town.

Will be a wild weekend-

Brazil Bound

Well- today is the last day before the big boys head to Brazil. As a matter of fact, the DR will leave home today at any minute, join up with Outpatient, and then in less than 24 hours, they will be flying southward.

Of course today and the rest of this week is chock full of activities. We started today will school pictures times three, and Oldest had an eye appointment (having trouble getting the right fit for his contacts) and his science fair project due, then I have been making sure the needed laundry is done, the suitcases are packed, plus a few empties ready to go in case they need them (Mission President's daughter is sending home a whole slew of stuff). Then I have to run down in an hour because Oldest also has an orthodontist appt (crossing fingers although not too hopefully that they will be able to start something!). I canceled activity day until next week which will actually work out better because we will do a fun St Patrick's day service project.

Tomorrow is Middle's maturation program, and an orchestra program, plus regular TaVaci, and hockey scrimmage. Friday we have to leave here before noon for the final hockey games/ tournament of the year. We will get home and start our first hockey free week :) although I hear rumblings that soccer practice will start since they have been shoveling the snow off fields to speed the melting process- here's hoping we get at least a week off :)
